Meet the Team | Danielle Chin Johnson
This year we’re introducing a series on who makes us Benjamin Obdyke. We want to highlight the people that represent our brand every day by educating the community on what it means to Build Better.
Who is Danielle Chin Johnson?
Danielle Chin joined the Benjamin Obdyke team as a Market Development Manager in August 2021. Since then, she has served the Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine areas. Her primary role is to help educate builders, architects, dealers, and distributors about the importance of moisture management in the home system and the products that can help them achieve a protected building envelope.
Danielle loves what she does and accredits part of that to the company culture instilled at Benjamin Obdyke. “You can feel the dedication to the craft from every fiber of the company, and our customers realize that too. Every single person on this team is dedicated to educating people in the industry on ways they can improve the efficiency of the building envelope,” said Danielle. She also acknowledges that the product development process is another thing that sets Benjamin Obdyke apart from the competition in the moisture management space. She elaborated, “We’re making the product our customers say they need. Feedback from the field doesn’t go unnoticed. We take that feedback and put it into action by honing on making products that will be the best for our customers.”
Danielle enjoys being the go-to resource when builders and dealers are looking for a solution. She might not brag about it, but we will – at the end of 2022, Danielle and Benjamin Obdyke were given the “New Member of the Year” award by the Home Builders & Remodeler’s Association of Cape Cod. She continues to accomplish so much as one of few females in this industry.
What is Danielle’s Favorite Project?
While every project is different, the ones that stand out to Danielle the most are the ones that help a builder solve a problem. Not long ago, she worked with a builder on a coastline project in an area with high-wind-driven rain. For this project, the builder wanted to utilize the HydroGap SA and HydroFlash LA system. Despite it being their first time using this system, they were excited to make the switch which thrilled Danielle.
“I’m very fortunate to work with a great set of like-minded partners and customers who care about building science. They truly make it fun to do my job.”
What Danielle Looks to Accomplish in 2023
Danielle looks forward to helping further educate those she works with on how to adapt their building approach, and the products they use, to meet some of the new code changes. She has already started the year with some great projects and is excited about the new product launches coming this Spring.
What She Does Outside of Obdyke…
