Benjamin Obdyke Incorporated is an Equal Opportunity Employer
You have insatiable curiosity and hunger to learn. You enjoy
sharing your knowledge with others.
You’re a problem-solver, a fixer, unable to rest until a
solution is found. You’re the person
that your friends call to help them hash out an issue (or to have you explain
the latest episode of WestWorld). You
can tackle the tough, complicated problems with energy and stick-to-itiveness.
Your favorite toy as a kid was anything LEGO. Maybe you even
bought yourself the 7,500 piece Millennium Falcon set for your birthday last
year (not judging!). You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and managing a project
to success, LEGOs or otherwise.
Maybe you’ve graduated with an engineering or other
technical degree, but don’t see yourself working in a traditional engineering career.
You like people and are energized by
working with a team. You can clearly
articulate a goal and rally people to make it a reality. Making spreadsheets for
project-tracking, your fitness regimen, really for anything - brings you joy.
If you responded, “oh heck yeah!” to these questions, we might have a match!
Benjamin Obdyke is looking for an energetic, self-motivated product
specialist. The plan for this role is to
turn a “technical apprentice” into “technical guru”. This role reports directly to the Dir. of
Product Development and is responsible for the execution of product support,
product certification and testing, and the tracking of building codes and
trends. The product specialist will play
a “project manager” role as needed to support product development and operations.
This role is also responsible to provide technical support to our customers as
requested. Jobsite visits and other
face-to-face interactions with customers are not only expected but encouraged.
MUST-HAVES: “there’s nothing we can’t do” attitude,
bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or
related field. Results-driven, analytical, people-focused, relentlessly
positive, and fluent in Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. Willingness
to travel up to 20%.
Ability to take the work seriously, but not yourself.
BONUS POINTS!: experience in CAD software, interest in
building industry, hands-on contractor or design experience, experience in
training and/or presentation development and delivery.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package (even
though we think working with such awesome people should be rewarding enough).
